The 2nd Southwest Brazilian Classic was an awesome tournament sponsored by GD Jiu-Jitsu Events. There was over 600 competitors all competing for bragging rights, medals and 3 plane tickets to Portugal. On top of all the great action, it was nice to see a bigger Many Weapons presence. We took as many pictures and as much video as possible. Unfortunately we couldn’t catch everything but we were able to get some amazing shots. Congratulations to Kristina Barlaan, Issa Able and Bruno Bastos. Congratulations to Kristina Barlaan who won six matches, her weight and the Open, AND got promoted to Purple Belt. Congratulations to Issa Able on Gold in the purple and congratulations to Bruno Bastos on being the American National Black Adult Super Heavy Champ and and placing 2nd in the Open Class!!! Awesome job!!! There were many more big winner’s last weekend. Too many to name. Congratulations to all winners and competitors from Many Weapons..

Frankie Edgar, Randy Couture and Nate Diaz weren’t the only ones putting the smack down on competition last weekend during UFC 118. Here are some great pics of Bruno Bastos on the podium as usual. Much respect for being UFC Expo Gi above 210lb Champion and for closing the Open Class with Ricardo Demente. Job well done!!!

Bruno Bastos in Brazil with Many Weapons

Bruno Bastos 2010 was crowned 2010 CBJJO Open Class World Champion, 2010 IBJJF Super Heavy International Masters Champion and 2010 IBJJF Super Heavy Rio International Open 2nd Place!!! He won the super-heavy weight Masters and got 2nd in the Rio Open super-heavy weight at the same time. He had 7 matches total. Next year his goal is to make all 4 classes again. He displayed serious Samurai Spirit…OSSSSSSSSSSS. Hats off to Bruno.

OUR NEW WORLD CLASS BJJ SHIRT WAS A HIT WITH A FEW HIGH PROFILE COMPETITORS AT THE AZ STATE BJJ CHAMPIONSHIP. EVEN CAN BE SEEN IN A COOL EVENT RECAP ARTICLE POSTED ON GRACIE MAG.COM. CHECK IT OUT!!!

This Saturday the Arizona BJJ State Championship promoted by black belt Gustavo Dantas was held. The absolute black belt division paid out one thousand dollars to the winner and a number of gi-clad beasts took to the mats.

The big standout was Bruno Bastos. The Nova União rep had two matches on his way to taking the prize money in the open weight division. Bruno Bastos is a prime example of what people do with Many Weapons!!! Congratulations to Bruno on an excellent showing.

Ben Henderson took first in his weight group and the absolute division to boot. Congratulations Smooth Ben!!!

Broadnax twins Christian and Christopher, won the featherweight and lightweight blue belt divisions. Pan 2010 champion Kristina Barlaan won both her weight group and absolute at blue belt. Congratulations team Many Weapons/team GD Jiu-Jitsu.
