Just checked out a very cool site with very impressive photos.  Cooperfoto.com captured some awesome images of the Broadnax Brothers in action at the 2010 South Bay Open and many other stunning images of high profile national BJJ events and competitors.  If you participated in Worlds, Pans or the South Bay Open in the past few years there is a chance your picture could be there as well.  It is definitely worth investigating.  The Broadnax twins are 16 year old recently promoted purple belts that are not only very talented, but fun to watch…  May be not to compete against.  Below are a few photos of them, links to many weapons gear and a highlight video of them doing what they do best.  For more pictures like these check out cooperfoto.com.  For the coolest gear check out manyweapons.com.

This Saturday the Arizona BJJ State Championship promoted by black belt Gustavo Dantas was held. The absolute black belt division paid out one thousand dollars to the winner and a number of gi-clad beasts took to the mats.

The big standout was Bruno Bastos. The Nova União rep had two matches on his way to taking the prize money in the open weight division.  Bruno Bastos is a prime example of what people do with Many Weapons!!!  Congratulations to Bruno on an excellent showing.

Ben Henderson took first in his weight group and the absolute division to boot.  Congratulations Smooth Ben!!!

Broadnax twins Christian and Christopher, won the featherweight and lightweight blue belt divisions.  Pan 2010 champion Kristina Barlaan won both her weight group and absolute at blue belt.  Congratulations team Many Weapons/team GD Jiu-Jitsu.

The 2010 Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship took place in Irvine, CA from April 8th to the 11th. The largest tournament in IBJJF  history gathered over 2800 competitors from all over the world. Team Many Weapons was represented by 3 competitors who were able to win 5 medals! Christian Broadnax, won both his weight and the Open Class in the Blue/Juvenile division, Kristina Barlaan, who won the feather weight division and took third in the Open Class and Christopher Broadnax who won Middle/Juvenile.

Likewise, BJJ Practitioner Gustavo Dantas has dedicated his life to making sure that each and every one of his students approach the mat with all the necessary tools to leave victorious (Many Weapons).  This past weekend he took a small group of fearless mercenaries to the Abu Dhabi West Coast Trials in Santa Cruz, California and left with a number of medals and handful standout performances.  Most notable Issa Able who won 7 straight matches and will be representing GD Jiu – Jitsu, Nova União and Many Weapons at the Abu Dhabi Pro on April 15th to 17th.

However we are proud of all that the team accomplished against cream of the crop competition.  Below are pics of the competitors along with their amazing accomplishments.

Taking place on Sunday, January 24th, 2010 at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California in the United States, the event will see eight qualifiers afforded the chance to represent the United States at Abu Dhabi in 2010.

All qualifiers from the American event will fight it out to compete with the best grapplers and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes from across the world and for the chance at winning a massive USD $145,000 in cash and prizes at the Abu Dhabi Pro.

I’m not sure what is more amazing the fact that the 16 year old Broadnax twins (Christian and Christopher) completely dismantled their division and faced off in the final at the 1st Southwest Brazilian Jiu – Jitsu Classic in October or that they predicted it would happen.  Either way the talent possessed by this dynamic duo is undeniable.

In order to stay on top of their game they regularly compete in adult divisions.  In addition to BJJ supremacy they have MMA aspirations.  Based on what I have witnessed thus far they are destined for greatness.  They have the guard, the top game, the take downs and the submissions…  Christian and Christopher Broadnax are twins with two MANY WEAPONS!!!
